  1. We respect one another and we do not tolerate discrimination of any kind, including but not limited to, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, differences in ability, race, age, nationality, or religious affiliation. We speak respectively and listen attentively.

  2. We strive to create a fair, equitable, and productive structure for meetings. 

  3. We are responsive and follow-through with one another.

  4. Everyone can share their opinion but there is a transparent process for reaching decisions.

  5. We make new people, and those who have less power or privilege, feel welcome and empowered.

  6. The Board continually evaluates these norms and the organization’s ability to uphold them.


Organizer

Katie O’Connor, oswego

Katie O’Connor is a recent graduate of Albion College with a degree in Political Science and Women’s Studies. While a student, she held internships with Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Public Affairs department and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan. She was also a student advocate for reproductive rights and spoke at rallies around the state. She was raised in Lombard, IL and returned to the state after college to pursue a career in advocacy. As the ISPC Organizer, she is working on the Every District for Single Payer campaign.
